Heartsworn Abyss: NighTmaRes is a 2D visual novel for players who want dark romantic drama with heavy netorare undertones. The tone is bleak and tense, built around jealousy, coercion, and the slow unraveling of a relationship.

Story

Rei Tsukiyora, a pawnshop owner scraping by in Miyogawa's underworld, takes in Akari Hashimoto after finding her fleeing captors. What begins as a temporary arrangement becomes a shared life, until Akari's past catches up with her. Ryuichi Satou, a powerful company head, sets his sights on her and, after being rejected, launches a scheme to seize her company and break her resolve, with Rei caught in the fallout.

Gameplay

The game plays as a linear visual novel told from a male protagonist's point of view, with story branches that lead to multiple endings depending on the choices made along the way. Players follow the fallout of Ryuichi's scheme through scripted scenes and dialogue choices that shape how far the corruption goes and who ends up compromised. Some scenario paths expand on what happens when the two leads are kept apart, adding weight to the decisions made earlier in the story.
